Types of Acne
Our Healing Clay is an Effective Treatment for Many Types of Acne and Acne Scars

Acne vulgaris

The most common type of acne is called acne vulgaris (or simply "common acne"). This is the type of acne that many teenagers suffer with – acne vulgaris is called "common" because it is. It's caused by a dramatic increase in testosterone production during adolescence which normally begins to wane in the 30s. As acne vulgaris is caused by changes in the make-up of the body, it is classified as hormonal or hormone-related acne.

Acne vulgaris can cause itching and may also involve the formation of pimples or spots. Depending on the progression of this skin condition, acne scars may be result. Even after the acne goes away, significant acne scarring can still be a lingering problem. For this reason, we recommend beginning treatment with fangocur Acne Mineral Mask as well as Bentomed from fangocur as soon as the condition arises – the fangocur Success Plan is the optimal acne treatment.

If there are already acne scars present, regular use of the Acne Mineral Mask from fangocur can still improve the condition of the skin and lessen the visibility of the scars. The positive effects of the healing clay on acne scarring is not only scientifically proven – the unbelievably positive results reported by many happy users of fangocur natural healing clay keep coming in. There's no doubt about the beneficial effects.

To supplement and support the treatment with the Acne Mineral Mask and the Bentomed drink, we recommend our Acne Mineral Soap. It's been specially developed for the sensitive skin of acne sufferers. It also contains the same highly effective healing volcanic clay, and that means not only gentle skin cleansing but also an extra boost in the healing process via the active ingredients it contains. It's also a good idea to regularly moisturise the skin with a skin cream that's been specially developed for acne-prone skin: Mineral Cream N° 4. This skin cream also contains very small particles of fango healing clay so it encourages wound healing and gently cares for the skin without causing irritation.

Acne inversa

Acne inversa (Hidradinitis suppurativa or HS) is a chronic skin condition involving inflamed boils and abscesses of the apocrine (sweat) glands and hair follicles. This type of acne is a common and severe infection which often affects areas of the body where there is friction such as the axillae, groin and buttocks. The pathology is not fully understood, although contributing factors like nicotine abuse (smoking) has been found to play a role. Eventually the condition can result in painful and pus-filled areas of infected skin, often with boils and occasionally fistulae. The disease process varies from person to person.

Due to the development of inflamed boils, acne scarring can result. It's best to avoid disturbing pimples and/or boils without first consulting a physician as doing such can lead acne scars. Try the fangocur Acne Mineral Mask which contains healing volcanic clay to fight the acne and improve the condition of the skin (i.e. reduce acne scarring). For a description of how fangocur can help, see the section above which describes acne vulgaris.

Acne comedonica

Acne comedonica is similar to acne vulgaris, though in this case blackheads and small boils are more common. The skin condition of those who suffer with acne comedonica is characterised by the presence of closed comedones (blackheads) and perhaps a mild infection involving papules. Scarring is not normally a concern with this type of acne.

Acne conglobata

This is the most severe form of acne and is similar to acne inversa, involving dense clusters of boils and fistulae. Acne conglobata often leads to severe acne scarring due to the severity of the related infections.

Acne papulopustulosa

The inflammation caused by this type of acne can be severe. It involves numerous papules and pustules – acne scarring can result from the many infections under the skin. It is characterised by boils and pimples, some penetrating deep into the tissue below. Cysts also often accompany this skin condition.

Acne papulosa

Acne papulosa is a distinctive and somewhat rare form of acne. The presence of blackheads is clear although puss-filled blisters are not present. Though possible, this type of acne seldom causes scarring.

Contact Acne/Cosmetic-Related Acne

This skin condition is caused by a reaction to skin products and/or makeup. No longer using the problematic product usually resolves the condition. If the problem is recognised in time and use of the product is discontinued, scarring rarely results.

Acne aestivalis

Acne aestivalis (or "summer acne") often affects those on holiday and is related to sudden changes in sun exposure. It is caused by a combination of UV rays and sun creams or sprays.

As you can see, there are many forms of acne. The word acne is actually a larger category for skin conditions having similar symptoms, though the actual cause of the condition can vary greatly. For this reason, it's important to treat the specific type of acne.

Remedies commonly used today differ greatly in their effectiveness. The fangocur Acne Mineral Mask can be used for all types of acne – it's made from pure healing volcanic clay, it's 100% natural and has no side effects.

Most Types of Acne Can Be Effectively Treated with fangocur Healing Clay

Healing clay is effective in the treatment of most forms of acne. This natural product has no side effects and its ability to heal has been known for decades. All healing clay is not the same: some are made from low-quality clay which has to be highly processed (e.g. ground and heated) in order to produce a low-price/low-quality product.

Our fangocur healing products contain unprocessed Gossendorf Fango – that means that no additional heating is needed, rather it's fine grain is natural. The fangocur Acne Mineral Mask is the natural skin treatment – this healing volcanic clay contains only natural rain water. This most natural of waters becomes enriched through contact with the volcanic clay (13 million years old) – the clay used is rich in sulphur, minerals and electrolytes. Many who suffer with acne have tried the Acne Mineral Mask and now treasure it for its healing effects.

The Healing Clay Can Also Be Used to Treat Acne Scars

An important ingredient in the masks from fangocur (including the fangocur Acne Mineral Mask) is silica, an important element in the makeup of connective tissue. This compound not only improves the skin's ability to heal the wounds caused by acne – it reduces the number of pimples and blackheads that can cause acne scars. The silica is responsible for better healing and a lessening of the acne symptoms, and is one of the main ingredients in the fangocur Acne Mineral Mask. Additionally our Acne Mineral Soap and Mineral Cream N°4 contain natural silica and so make great additions to your everyday skin care regime.
